Mark Burns
Since completing his Trade Certificate in 1995, Mark has built extensive experience with the design and construction of projects across commercial and non-commercial building, food and wine, abattoirs, brewing and distilling.
At Burns Welding, Mark’s main focus is on business development, and ensuring the business continues to deliver on its promises around on-time, on-budget, safe and defect-free delivery on all projects.
In 2014, Mark founded The Aisling Distillery, combining his passion for Single Malt whisky with his experience in the manufacturing and design of distillery and brewery fit-outs, making his mark on the quality spirits sector in Australia.
Michelle Burns
As Mark’s wife, Michelle shares his love of high quality craft spirits and premium distillery fit-outs. Together Mark and Michelle launched the Aisling Distillery, a life changing journey for them both, which has been recognised with national and international awards. Michelle is Assistant Distiller, along with being the front of house person running the cellar door and introducing people to their range of handcrafted spirits.
At Burns Welding, Michelle wears many hats, combining her experience in accounts and background in the private and government sector, to ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of the business. While also helping with hands-on mashing, fermenting and distilling to handcraft spirits in the distillery.
The Aisling Distillery.
When we decided to build our own distillery in 2014, The Aisling Distillery, to distil small-batch whisky, rum and gin, we learned firsthand the importance of engineering-informed decisions to innovate and improve efficiencies.
Our distillery focuses on slow, smooth, soft craft spirits, inspired by our heritage and by the beautiful area where we live and work.
Today, we bring the attention to detail and problem-solving innovation we’ve learned along the way, to benefit every single customer project.
